Forshaw Building Contractors Ltd are a local, family-run building company based in Southport, providing a high-quality service and an exceptional standard of workmanship to ensure every project stands the test of time.


The business was originally established in 1975 by Bob Forshaw, who built a strong local reputation for reliability, attention to detail and quality workmanship. After more than 45 years in the trade, Bob has now retired, and the company is proudly led by his son, Chris Forshaw.


Chris has over 24 years’ experience in the building industry, having worked alongside Bob for many years. He continues to run the business with the same values and approach that the Forshaw name has become known for — ensuring every job is completed properly, using a combination of traditional building methods and modern materials, products and techniques.


We specialise in a wide range of building services, including extensions, renovations, damp proofing, rendering and general building work, managing projects from concept through to completion. Each project is carefully planned and managed to run smoothly and efficiently, with as little disruption to our clients as possible.


We take pride in every job we undertake, and this pride is reflected in the quality of our workmanship. Many of our customers come to us through recommendation, and you can read their feedback on our testimonials page, where we have shared comments and letters received over the years.


Although we are a small, hands-on building company, we are fully capable of delivering larger projects such as full house renovations, extensions and alterations, as well as smaller jobs including window replacements, garden walls and repairs. No project is too big or too small. We offer free, no-obligation quotations and competitive pricing, without ever compromising on the quality of our workmanship or the materials we use. Our aim is always to leave our customers with a finished job that will last for many years to come.


All work is carried out in a professional manner, at a sensible pace, with great care taken to keep sites clean, tidy and safe throughout the project.
